This position is with the Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs (EEA). The UI/UX Designer will help to lead the design efforts for our digital products and experiences, both on the web and at interface points for our real-life, live-action games. Coupled with craft drinks and food in the Night Shift Beer Hall and an authentic brewery dining experience in the Night Shift Tap Room & Kitchen, Level99 is an exciting new entertainment experience designed for young adults. Note: this role is hybrid in the Norwood, MA area. Level99 is a first-of-its-kind entertainment experience, which opened its proof-of-concept venue in Natick MA in June 2021.
A young, entrepreneurial company, Level99 has immediate plans to triple in size, opening two new northeast locations in the next 18 months. A massive World of Challenges, over 48,000 square feet in size, Level99 offers a physical open-world game environment where groups of 2-6 guests choose from over 40 rooms, each containing a unique physical or mental team challenge. Passion for deeper understanding of democracy-its meaning, history, and potential- and promoting democratic social movements, including knowledge of current challenges confronting our democracy, the social movements pursuing solutions, and lessons to be drawn from the experience of other nations.A Level99 UI/UX Designer has honesty and personal integrity that is above reproach, prefers a joyful and positive approach to challenging situations, chooses humility over the need to be right, and in all things acts as though you are the Owner of our venues.Collaborative work ethic and a positive attitude.Preferred experience in designing book covers and/or book layouts.Proficiency in using design software, such as Adobe Photoshop or Canva.

In-person work is preferred, but remote work is an option. The position is on a short-term contract basis. In this role, you would work closely with Frances throughout the design process. A goal for the book is awakening Americans to how poorly our democracy ranks worldwide as well as shining the light on motivating lessons from leading democracies.

In September 2021, she celebrated with the 50th Anniversary edition of Diet for a Small Planet, with major coverage in the New York Times, Boston Globe, among other major outlets. Frances Moore Lappé is the author of Diet for a Small Planet and 19 other books, including the most recent Crisis of Trust.
